Multidisciplinary, implemented in an interdisciplinary environment – the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Lodz enables obtaining a doctoral degree in six disciplines. At the same time, the Study Program allows for conducting research in a selected discipline of the humanities in individual and team interdisciplinarity. Field of study / discipline: the field of humanities, disciplines: archaeology, history, philosophy, linguistics, literature, culture and religion studies.
The key learning objective is the scientific development of a Doctoral Student who, during 4 years of study at the Doctoral School of Humanities, broadens and deepens their knowledge of a selected scientific discipline in an interdisciplinary environment, enabling placing the competences related to a given discipline in a broader context. Moreover, the Doctoral Student also develops their research and teaching workshop and acquires soft competences that can be used in the future in both academic and non-academic professional activities.
After graduating from the Doctoral School of Humanities and defending their doctoral dissertation, the graduate obtains a doctoral degree in humanities in one of six disciplines: archaeology, history, philosophy, linguistics, literature, or culture and religion.
The Doctoral School of Humanities offers an opportunity to obtain a degree in six disciplines. At the same time, the School’s curriculum allows for conducting individualized and collective interdisciplinary research in a selected humanist discipline. Additionally, a student enhances their research and teaching acumen and acquires soft skills, which may be then utilized both during an academic and non-academic career.
